Digital Starter Kit - Teaching/Learning Units on Social and Environmental Responsibility - 27 January - 14:00-15:30 CET - Video Conference
Interactive university teaching that gives students the chance to engage with their social and environmental responsibilities is possible and readily implementable at universities - even digitally.
Through the interdisciplinary Blue Engineering Course, students complement their disciplinary knowledge with an orientation knowledge and acquire competencies of an education for sustainable development. This will help them to know their role within society, encourages them to shape it together with others and to engage for a social-ecological transformation.
In its digital implementation, the Blue Engineering Course has saved the Corona semester for many students, because here, despite being taught through videoconferencing, they meet with other students in small and large groups, reflect on their values, discuss with each other, analyze the existing societal relation and create new one.
The Blue Engineering Course was developed at TU Berlin and has been anchored in the regular teaching there since 2011. Despite the engineering reference in the name, the course has a decidedly interdisciplinary character, so that students from all other disciplines can participate.
All elements of the course concept are easy to use, transferable, scalable and freely accessible on our website which contains over 100 teaching/learning units. Therefore, the course is already offered at nine universities as a compulsory/elective course in Germany crediting around 5 ECTS points.
Now for the first time, we provide a version of our starter kit in English. It will contain 20 teaching/learning units which can be used independently or can be combined to a full course.
We cordially invite you to our interactive workshop:
